After the triumphant collaboration on 2008’s REPO! Check out the official Stone Sour lyric video for the songs “Gone Sovereign” and “Absolute Zero”! Both tracks are taken from “House Of Gold And Bones – Part 1″, the first half of the band’s upcoming two-disc concept album. Part 1 will have its premiere on October 23, while the second half will come out next year, probably in May. Corey Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that the project has turned out even better than he had hoped. “It’s some of the best work we’ve ever done,” he said. “Song-wise, guitar-wise, performance-wise, I mean, everything. It’s so good. It’s come out so much better than I thought it was going to. It’s surpassed all of our expectations. It’s really, really good.”
Stone Sour will shoot a video for “Gone Sovereign” and “Absolute Zero” during the coming weeks. #8 of Slipknot tweeted, “There will be a fan casting call… once we figure out where we’re going to film it. [It will be] a performance [clip] with 1-2,000 fans. [It's] gonna be sick as fuck.”
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the making of the project, Taylor said, “Even with the time constraints we had, we basically recorded two albums in the time it takes to record one. So we were doing double-duty every day. I was tracking two songs vocally a day just to keep us on a deadline and it really pushed us to strive for excellence.”
The singer also said that the band wanted to “really try and go for (a) natural vibe on this without using a ton of samples and really try to differentiate us from everybody else out there . . . we wanted to really capture a unique sound.”

Corey Taylor contributed a few quotes to an article at Bloody Discusting about the current state of the music industry. Below you can read an excerpt from the article.
“It’s more of a fucking factory at this point,” says Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour. “They keep cranking out these mediocre f*ck heads , shoving them into the studio for ten seconds and then they basically autocorrect everything.” He adds, “I think this generation that’s growing up really enjoying this pop music is gonna be the same as the people who grew up really liking Rick Astley. It’s passing fancy, as far as music goes.”

“These are the first two songs on the ‘House of Gold and Bones pt. 1′. Being the first part of a set of concept albums, “Gone Sovereign” is essentially the overture and “Absolute Zero” is the Hero’s anthem. It is the best way to introduce you to this new world. For more background, you’ll have to wait for the full albums.” -Corey Taylor
